Welcome, I’m Hannah, a Makaton tutor who provides a wide range of therapeutic interventions tailored to each individual’s needs.
I have expertise in Early Years, 14 years experience in speech and language therapy with extensive experience and knowledge of SEND.
I offer a professional and friendly bespoke service. My work encompasses a holistic approach, by offering a creative and explorative space to facilitate learning opportunities for parents/carers, professionals and children.
LEARN TO SIGN USING MAKATON
Makaton training supports language development and communication skills in Early Years. iHANDZ provides a wide range of therapeutic services to suit each individual’s needs. Services include in-person Makaton training in Buckinghamshire and beyond, or online training from wherever you are located in the UK.
WHAT IS MAKATON?
Makaton consists of three main elements. These are signs, symbols and speech. Makaton supports non-verbal communication such as eye contact, gesture, body language, facial expression, and intonation.
ACCESSIBLE FOR ALL
Anyone can learn Makaton! It is designed to support both adults and children with learning and communication difficulties and disabilities. Makaton supports parents, carers, families, Early Years professionals and more.

BESPOKE 1:1 MAKATON TUTORING
MAKATON SIGNING FOR GROUPS
Group sessions can be booked to train parents/ carers and professionals to learn Makaton whilst engaging in interactive group activities, whilst everyone gets to learn and practise signing.
Small groups of children can observe as I demonstrate Makaton signing.
Personalised sessions to learn Makaton signing, which covers looking at symbols and how they are used most effectively. My tutoring sessions are bespoke to suit each individuals needs and requirements, and ensuring that we work at their pace.
Revision sessions can be booked on request.
ONLINE MAKATON TRAINING COURSES
SPEECH AND LANGUAGE THERAPY SUPPORT SESSIONS
These sessions can be offered online and face to face. Home visit sessions are available locally and are suitable for children as they are more familiar in their own environment. With these sessions, I offer support with communication skills and language development within play-based activities. My sessions are interactive and visually stimulating when using Makaton signs.
In addition to face-to-face sessions, I also offer online training courses. Online Makaton courses are available for parents, families, carers, Early Years professionals, and other professionals.
LEARN A NEW SKILL
Makaton signing can be used by children and adults to communicate with their family, teachers and friends. It is a fantastic way to communicate.
